About Good Cheer Good cheer is a positive state of mind. The Order of Good Cheer was a social club designed to keep early settlers entertained through a long Canadian winter. Good Cheer Publishing is a company with a mission to both entertain and educate. We design our books to be attractive, useful and a lot of fun to read. Good Cheer is the creation of Jacqui Good and Leon Cole, veteran Canadian broadcasters. Between us we had over half a century of experience on the air. He was best known as a classical music host on RSVP, she as an arts journalist. When we returned to our roots in eastern Canada, we published Dear RSVP: Listeners Share Music, Life and Laughter with Leon Cole, a direct result of our radio experience. A cd called The RSVP Collection was a natural companion. We still perform RSVP shows around the country. ![]() RSVP on the Road We greatly admired Leonard Isaacs, another broadcaster/musician and were proud to publish his memoirs Leonard Isaacs: Five Lives in One. Lately, Good Cheer has expanded its horizons and published a pair of books that have nothing to do with music or broadcasting. Instead, The World is a Class and Chopsticks and French Fries help you discover how and why to teach English as a Second Language (TESL). We firmly believe that teaching abroad is a growth industry and a great experience for anyone with a sense of adventure. Our authors are experienced teachers who know what they’re writing about. You can order any of these titles in our Bookstore. Next for Good Cheer? Stay tuned. |
